These changes are made gradually over time to help you ease into your new habits and give up old ones. The responsibility of lifestyle management is ultimately yours and a commitment to your healthy lifestyle is the key to your success.

Stress

Stress occurs when we are faced with an event requiring change or adjustment. Our body reacts with physical, mental and emotional responses.

Effects of Stress

Under stress our bodies react by creating too much cortisol and adrenaline, which put us in a state of hormonal imbalance. When stress is unrelenting, our body can show the effects with physical symptoms such as headaches, upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, weight gain or loss, and problems sleeping. Stress leads to disturbed sleep/wake cycles, a weakened immune system, and in some cases, depression.
